As the official sponsor of the 2008 World Series of Poker, Everest Poker is running non stop WSOP Satellites. While the direct entry events take place 3 times per week, there are dozens of chances to qualify for these events on a daily basis. For as little as $3.30 a player can satellite to one of the 08 WSOP events.

Here are the 3 Direct Entry Events:

$13,000 WSOP Mondays – For $500+$30 players can satellite into the WSOP $10,000 Buy-in Texas Hold’em Main Event. Each Monday this tournament takes place and 1 seat/package is guaranteed. In addition to the seat winners receive $3,000 cash directly to their Everest Poker account.

$7,500 WSOP Wednesdays - For $200+$15 players can satellite into their choice of any $5,000 Buy-in 2008 WSOP Event. Each Wednesday this tournament takes place and 1 seat/package is guaranteed. Winners of this package also receive $2,500 to their Everest Poker accounts.

$3,500 WSOP Fridays - For $100+$9 players can satellite into their choice of any 2008 $1,500 Buy-in event. Every Friday this tournament takes place and 1 seat/package is guaranteed. Winners of this satellite also receive $2,000 cash to their Everest Poker account.

To find details on all the satellites to these 3 direct entry events, which are running around the clock, download the Everest Poker software. From the tournament lobby click satellite on the upper tabbed menu and WSOP on the lower tabbed menu.

With all the seats being given away, there is no excuse not to make this the year you enter the World Series of Poker in Vegas.

Everest Poker continues to make huge strides in their race to cement their position as the world’s largest multi-lingual online poker room. The newest addition to their product is a massive tournament leaderboard promotion, which is set to pay out thousands of dollars in prizes on weekly and monthly bases. Every few weeks it seems Everest is adding something new or making positive headlines one way or another. It all started with the addition of Omaha a few months back, then it was major software upgrades and not to mention the mega-sized deal they secured to become an official World Series of Poker sponsor and online satellite provider.

This promotion is quite detailed so we’ve decided to add a new page to our website to cover it, see our new page titled Everest Poker Tournament Leaderboard.

According to PokerScout.com, a site that monitors traffic amongst online poker rooms, Everest Poker currently sits currently as the forth largest European focused poker room, sixth overall. With all these major updates, promotions and sponsorship one can only assume Everest has their sites set on, at the very least, taking over the number three slot. This certainly ups the bar for the other poker rooms wishing to compete in Everest’s many global markets as once the players introduced to Everest at the 2008 WSOP see all these promotions, they’re likely to stick.

In case anyone at Everest Poker reads this post, as poker players ourselves we want to say “Great Job!” and thanks for the awesome promotion.

Full details can also be found on the Everest Poker website.

Everest Poker and Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc have announced a multi-year agreement which amongst other things names Everest Poker as the primary sponsor and online satellite provider to the 2008 World Series of Poker.

Terms of the agreement are set to provide the Everest Poker brand with massive exposure as their logo will be placed both on the top-felt of every table and on the inner-rung of all televised featured tables at this years WSOP. With this years No Limit Texas Hold’em Main Event alone estimated to reach an audience of 200 million poker fans, players and enthusiasts, this is certainly a huge deal for Everest Poker.

Not only is this deal huge for Everest Poker, but it’s also a win for the WSOP. Harrah’s is aggressively seeking to build their brand globally. Everest was the first online poker room to offer its software in nearly-all major languages and is the most popular poker room in many non-English speaking markets. The WSOP will gain a lot of exposure in many of these markets and will go a long way in solidifying their brand globally.

Ty Stewart, World Series of Poker Director of Marketing, Sponsorship and Licensing, “We’re excited to welcome Everest Poker to the World Series of Poker family. Through this agreement, Everest Poker is now literally in the center of the poker universe. Through presence on all tables, their brand will be connected to every historic moment at the WSOP. This alliance further demonstrates the globalization of poker and the industry behind it.

Jennifer Joyce, Everest Poker’s VP of Marketing, commented: “We are thrilled with this deal, as it will allow us to leverage our access to the WSOP to give our European players the best chance possible to compete at — and win — WSOP events in Las Vegas. We have always strived to make poker as accessible as possible to everybody, not just the elite few. The WSOP is the true global standard for poker giving pros a chance at history and amateur players the chance to fulfill their dream by rubbing shoulders with the legends. Our goal is to see a European win the Main Event.”

Everest Poker will be hosting a European Party in Vegas during the WSOP, which will be available to all players holding a European Passport and regardless of how they qualified for the WSOP event. We’ll post more details on this Everest Poker European Party later as they’ll become available closer to the WSOP events start date.

Everest Poker’s Avalanche tournament is returning for a second consecutive year in 2008. This year however there is one major upgrade, the ten tournament finalists and one friend each, will be flown to Ibiza to play out the final-table live.

What could be better than a free vacation with your best friend and a chance to win a share of the $1,000,00 prize pool this tournament carries?

Another great thing about this tournament is it’s really for everyone. Even though the main event carries a $3,000+$150 buy-in, players can earn their way to this even for as little as $11 in one of the daily Round 1 Satellites. That’s right, you don’t need to be a high roller for a chance to compete in this million dollar tournament.

Here is how to qualify:

Note: If you have a big bankroll you can enter the $3000+$150 event directly or can try your chances at one of the $500+30 weekly satellites. Others can start out at the $11+1 or $100+$9 qualifiers or perhaps try the $3+0.30 daily Avalanche Rebuy tournament.

Prize Pool:
The 2008 Avalanche tournament pays out 100 places and the first place winner is Guaranteed at least $200,000. This is based off the guaranteed prize pool of $1 Million; if the amount of buy-ins exceeds $1 Million the payouts will obviously be larger.

Great news for fans of the Omaha variation of online poker, it is now available at our favourite online poker room, everestpoker.com

Everest Poker has managed to become Europe’s third largest online poker room without offering any variations of poker other than Texas Hold’em. It will be interesting to see if Everest will be able to take over as one of the leading online poker rooms with the addition of Omaha to the Everest Poker’s cash games, sit and go’s and multi-table tournaments,

This new addition has already been well received as a current check shows 284 real money Omaha ring game players playing at Everest, with 52 tables being active (30 of them filled). While Everest offers Omaha in both the fixed and pot-limit varieties at this time traffic is primarily condensed to the pot-limit tables. This is of course not surprising as Omaha has always been the most popular in the pot-limit form as other variations have not caught on well on or offline.

While its not been confirmed, some poker news sites are reporting rumors that Everest Poker will be eventually adding 7 Card Stud as well. We will keep you updated if we receive any official news on that matter. In the mean time, you can head on over to the Everest Poker website to play Omaha online for real money.
